JOHN GOVERN

John is one of the finest golfers ever produced in the Southern Tier. He was the winner of the 1963 New York State Golf Association Boys Championship, went on to a stellar golf career at Hamilton College and played for a short time on the PGA tour. He has won several local tournaments including a record ten Vestal Hills championships.

As the Minute Man, John creates wonderfully humorous and creative musical parodies that are well known to businesses, organizations and individuals throughout Greater Binghamton. For more than 25 years, John has played a special part at birthdays, retirements, anniversaries and other events. Personally appearing in Revolutionary period garb and clanging his handbell, John delivers his witty lines of original verse to help commemorate the occasion with a healthy dose of fun.

Edgerson retired to Buffalo, where he has been involved in numerous charitable endeavors through the Bills Alumni, and was the 1993 recipient of the Ralph C. Wilson Award. Booker Edgerson is a member of the American Football League Hall of Fame.
